Working with Occupational Therapists

OT collaboration

ARN Project works with occupational therapists to convert clinical reasoning into practical, regulation-compliant adaptations that improve function, safety, and day-to-day comfort.

We read and reference assessments, propose buildable solutions with options, and coordinate delivery around therapy schedules and care routines so progress in the clinic is supported in the home.

From recommendations to buildable solutions

Clinical goals drive the brief. We map transfer routes, reach ranges, and equipment needs. Then we create specifications that respect access constraints, fabric limitations, infection control, and manufacturer standards.

Where there are unknowns, we prototype or stage works. Implementing rapid measures first for safe use, followed by permanent installations once outcomes are confirmed and funding is cleared.

Governance and documentation

Scope, costs, and risks are made explicit before works begin. Variations are logged and approved in writing.

Our teams are vetted and follow safeguarding procedures; RAMS and regulatory requirements are addressed up front.

At completion, we issue a handover pack. Containing certificates, warranties, manuals, maintenance guidance, and photo evidence, so recommendations and results are fully auditable.

Typical adaptation needs we deliver

We provide clinically informed, regulation-compliant adaptations with clear scope and predictable delivery.

  • Level-access wet rooms and accessible kitchens designed to measured ability
  • Ceiling-track hoists and specialist equipment integrated to manufacturer standards
  • Threshold removal, ramps, external pathways, and level access to gardens and vehicles
  • Room reconfiguration and structural works to establish safe transfer routes
  • Modular solutions (e.g., rapid shower pods, external access modules) for time-critical cases

Reversible measures for rental and interim properties

For multi-room or structural change, see Complex and large-scale home adaptations. Where hydrotherapy supports goals, review Hydrotherapy pool Facility installation. When speed is essential, consider Rapid modular adaptations.

For interim living, use temporary rental property adaptations. For early feasibility or property fit, choose Specialist property assessments and consultancy. Return to the Home Adaptation Installer hub for an overview.

Coordination with the MDT

We work within multidisciplinary teams, aligning specifications with physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and nursing requirements.

Site activity is planned around therapy blocks and care visits to minimise disruption. Communication is concise and scheduled, so the whole team stays informed and decisions remain transparent.
